Publication Ethics

Ethical guidelines and standards for all stakeholders in Journal of Innovation in Informatics (JII).

Jurnal Inovasi Informatik (JII) is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics in every published article. This policy refers to guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and covers the responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and journal publishers.

1 AUTHOR ETHICS

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted works to JII meet publication ethics standards with the following requirements:

Originality

Submitted manuscripts must be the result of original research and have never been published or are currently under review in other journals.

Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that manuscripts are free from plagiarism, with a maximum similarity threshold of:

20% (Turnitin or similar tools)

Authorship

All individuals who contribute significantly to the research must be listed as authors, while those providing only technical assistance or funding may be included in acknowledgments.

Data Transparency

Authors must provide valid and verifiable research data when requested by editors or reviewers.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose all forms of conflicts of interest that could influence research results.

Publication Corrections

If errors are found in published manuscripts, authors must immediately notify the journal editor for corrections or retraction if necessary.

2 EDITOR ETHICS

Editorial Responsibilities

Editors are responsible for maintaining publication integrity by applying the following principles:

Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for determining which articles will be published based on review results and academic contributions.

Objectivity

Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on academic quality without bias regarding personal aspects, race, gender, religion, or authors' institutional affiliations.

Confidentiality

Editors are prohibited from disclosing manuscript information to parties other than authors, reviewers, and relevant editorial team members.

Conflicts of Interest

Editors should not be involved in editorial decisions for manuscripts where they have potential conflicts of interest.

3 REVIEWER ETHICS

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers play an important role in ensuring the quality and validity of published articles through the double-blind peer review process. Reviewers must comply with the following:

Confidentiality

All content of reviewed manuscripts is confidential and must not be shared or used for personal interests.

Objectivity

Reviewers must provide objective and scientifically-based assessments without personal bias toward authors.

References & Validity

Reviewers should point out relevant references that authors may have missed and identify potential plagiarism or publication duplication.

Conflicts of Interest

If reviewers feel they have conflicts of interest with reviewed articles, they must inform the editor and withdraw from the review process.
